History made for the first time, Trio of the Shah family joined Islamabad united 

Islamabad United picked up Naseem Shah's younger brothers, Ubiad Shah and Hunain Shah during the PSL 9 draft held in December 2023. This selection was merely based on the performance of Ubaid Shah in Under 19 World Up and Hunain Shah in domestic cricket. He was playing for Lahore Qalandar when he got 5 wicket haul against Faislabad in the domestic league and got the attention of the selection committee 

Ubaid Shah performed well in the ongoing under-19 cricket World Cup. Ubaid Shah was able to get 19 wickets in eight ODIs. 

Criticism for being Shah's brother

Ubaid Shah and Hunain Shah are facing huge criticism for being the brother of Pakistani star fast bowler Naseem Shah. Social media is trolling young stars and expressing concerns about the influence of Naseem Shah in Islamabad United for the selection of his brother in the HBL PSL 9 draft. 

Naseem Shah's response to concerns 

Naseem Shah has cleared that the selection of his brothers was  based on their performance in the World Cup and domestic cricket 

"I would request everyone to give credit to Ubaid or Hunain if they perform well in cricket. It is unnecessary to link their name with my name 'Naseem Shah Brother' 

They were selected when I was not in the HBL PSL draft of Islamabad United. coaches and management selected them based on their performance"
